This piece of artwork has been designed to take the generalised notion of transition and represent it through the idea of a sculptural gate. This in turn is to further delve into the portrayal of a concept. The concept that we often “forget” the uncomfortable side of war and what it was we had to go through in order to achieve victory. The sculpture itself represents the want and need for prisoners of war to escape their captivity. It is there to invoke the viewer into thinking more deeply about the “other side” ofwar, rather than what it is more commonly instilled in us to remember.
